Literature Text

You take my hand,
And lead me to dance,
Stop -
Wait -
Darling, you don't understand!
But your eyes hold mine
And again,
I'm trapped in your game of chance.
I'm not weak,
But your grip is strong,
And I can't fight you,
Or what I feel,
So with the song,
You pull me forward.
I try to plead,
Just wait, love,
And again I can't speak -
Your eyes cause my heart to bleed.
Finally, through pounding fear,
I breathe my words,
What I need you to hear,
I don't know how -
To dance, I mean...
Your coy smirk-
Just like back then -
In your cold eyes,
I see warmth,
Love,
But I realize
You're still moving.
Please, I know I can't compare
To the others,
I don't know how,
And I'm scared -
Of messing up.
Will you love me if I stumble?
You take my body
As if the burden isn't mine,
Press me to you,
Your glance,
I recognize,
Our bodies -
You intend to twine,
But I shouldn't be afraid,
You will lead -
I will follow,
To your strength,
My heart,
My love -
I cede,
Place my hands,
And guide my feet
As you show me
How to dance.
Actually took me awhile with this one. And yes... I wrote it from Clarice's point of view to Hannibal... And yes, there are two ways to view this...
